June Banks, of Covington, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the age of 90. Mrs. Banks was a funny, loving, sassy, and caring woman who was loved dearly by her family. She had a personality all her own, but always with a heart full of love. Her family meant everything to her, and she especially enjoyed watching her grandsons play football and baseball. She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved relaxing with her favorite shows, The Andy Griffith Show and Maude. She enjoyed the simple things in life, including honey buns and a good cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Christmas Eve was always special as she looked forward to spending it at her favorite Mexican restaurant, El Charro. Of all the joys in her life, the greatest highlight was the birth of her son, Tommy, who held a very special place in her heart. Mrs. Banks will be remembered for her big heart, sassy spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and the deep love she had for her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Banks; parents, Henry and Mary Bowen.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Banks; grandsons, Brad Banks, Chad Banks; great-grandchildren, Lexi Banks, Easton Banks; sister, Joyce Childers; and nephews, Scott Childers and Ritchie Childers.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Banks will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026, 2:00 P.M., at Julia A. Porter Church, 3 Cotton Avenue, in Porterdale. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church one hour prior to her service, from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M.
