Obituary

Born on May 25, 1952, he was the son of Mary Scott and the late Luke Kent. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran and later dedicated his career to serving his community as a police officer before retiring.

He was a man whose life touched many people in different ways. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Like many families, our journey together was not always easy. There were times of love, times of distance, and moments that shaped each of us. But through it all, he remained a part of our story, and his passing leaves behind memories, emotions, and a place in our hearts that will always belong to him.

He leaves behind his children, Keely Sikes, Michael Kent, Eric Kent (Becky Kent), and Katelyn Kent; his mother, Mary Scott; and his siblings, Larry Kent, Laura Price, Reba Roberts, and Terri Kent.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cameron Chambers, Ethan Harper, Keelyn Harper, Korbin Farid, Kamden Farid, Charleigh Kent, Austin Kent, Bowen Brownlee, and Madison Kent, and his great-grandchild, Kayden Byrd. He was preceded in death by his father, Luke Kent, and his brother, Walker Kent. He will be remembered and missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.

We honor the life he lived, the people he loved, the service he gave, and the memories that will remain with those who knew, loved and cherished him.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Kent will be held Friday, September 25, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Lawnwood Memorial Park (1111 Access Road, Covington).  Friends are invited to visit with the family an hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home (1215 Access Road, Covington).
