Jay was a man whose heart was as wide and open as the outdoors he loved so much. He found peace and joy in the simple things like hunting, fishing, and spending time surrounded by the people he loved most. Jay cherished every moment with his family and friends, always showing up with a smile, a story, and a helping hand.
He loved deeply and lived fully. He loved his wife and was a proud father who adored his children beyond words. His family was the center of his world and everything he did came from that deep, steady love. He was also a proud grandpa whose world lit up whenever his grandbabies were around. Nothing made him smile brighter than hearing their laughter or spending time making memories with them.
Jay was known for his caring nature, his loyalty, and his ability to make everyone around him feel loved and welcomed. He treasured his friends and family, always offering a laugh and a story that would light up a room.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, his children, his precious grandbabies, his family, and his many friends; all of whom will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Jay is survived by his wife, Lisa Mitchell; his children, Jonathon Mitchell (Natashia), Bailey Mitchell (Cheyenne), and Brooke Mitchell (Chase); his parents, Johnny Sr. and Margaret Mitchell; his sisters, Denise Mitchell and Deanne Mitchell (Vernon); his brother, Jason Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Makinlee Currelley, Aiden Mitchell, Jayla Mitchell, and Tomarkus Woods.
