Joe L. Norwood

Joe L. Norwood, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the age of 78. Mr. Norwood was a craftsman; he liked making fishing poles and enjoyed leatherworking. He had a special interest in genealogy and loved to research his family history. Mr. Norwood was one of a kind and loved everyone he met. He was a blessing in every life he touched. Mr. Norwood was preceded in death by his parents, Gordie Mae and John Virgil Norwood; sisters, Margaret F. Henry, Jimmie Lou Gibbs, Rachel M. Coody; and brother, Jack M. Norwood.

Survivors include his daughters, Louanne Stargel (David), René Coker; grandchildren, Natalie, Allie, Abigail, Linda, Benjamin; brother, Gene Norwood; and special friend, Sharon Pounds.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Governor Brian Kemp’s latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
