Jerry Shane Duckett, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the age of 57. Mr. Duckett was a devoted hard worker known for his attention to detail and pride in doing things the right way. He had a deep love for creating with his hands, showcasing his carpentry and woodworking skills through the tables, wooden boxes, and other projects he carefully built. Gardening brought him peace, while golf was one of his favorite ways to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
He was a jokster, often answering the phone with his signature greeting, “Joe’s pool room, 8-ball speaking,” a phrase that never failed to bring a smile. He also enjoyed unwinding with his PS5, especially playing Fallout and Rocket League.
Mr. Duckett will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creativity, and the joy he found in building, fixing, and perfecting everything he touched. His presence, humor, and craftsmanship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Lee Duckett; and Grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; parents, Brenda McMillan (Don), Jerry Duckett; Children, Seth Duckett, Cody Moore, Anthony Duckett, step-daughter, Katie McKay (Allan); sister, Amber Duckett; aunts, Judy Brown, Teena Stump, grandsons, Bailey Alexander, and Avery McKay.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Duckett will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to his service, from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.
