Born on June 21, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia, Jason lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a caring personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Raised in the Walnut Grove area, Jason graduated from Social Circle High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army, he served two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service to his country stood as a testament to his strength of character and his devotion to something greater than himself.
Jason had a deep love for music, he was a talented drummer, and a known prankster. Above all, Jason cherished the time he spent with his children. Whether swimming, fishing, or gathering around for a favorite game, he found his greatest joy in their company.
Jason is survived by his father, Randy Whisenhunt and his wife, Carol; his mother, Yvonne Whisenhunt (Tony); his daughters, Jaden Alexus Lee Smith (Brandon), Genavieve Kora Whisenhunt (Gail), Stella Nicole Whisenhunt, and Emma Mae Whisenhunt; and his sons, Daniel Attison Whisenhunt, Waylon Cade Whisenhunt, and Albert John Randal Whisenhunt.
He was preceded in death by his son, Skylor Jason Whisenhunt; his sister, Megan Wingo and her husband, Chad; his stepbrother, Jeremy Orr; and his grandparents, Alice Mona Whisenhunt, Lester R. Whisenhunt, Betty Fields, and Caudle Fields.
Visitation will be held at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service and graveside committal at Lawnwood Cemetery.
Jason’s memory will live on through his children, his family, and the many people whose lives he touched. May he now rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who passed before him.
