Janeth Gurtha Miner

Janeth Gurtha Miner, of Conyers, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the age of 80. Mrs. Miner was a humble, godly woman whose quiet strength and sincere spirit touched everyone who knew her. A devoted wife who dearly loved her husband, she lived a life marked by faithfulness, compassion, and a true servant’s heart. She was a gentle caretaker, always putting the needs of others before her own.

A deacon’s wife, she supported her church with steadfast devotion. At home, she found joy in cooking, sipping her beloved coffee, and keeping up with her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives. She loved the mountains, where she found peace, and cherished the company of her loyal dog, Charlie.

Her grandchildren were truly her heart, bringing her endless happiness and pride. She especially treasured sharing simple moments with her husband, like enjoying Mexican food together.

Private yet deeply sincere, Mrs. Miner’s life was a quiet testimony of love, faith, and service. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Pearl McGuffin; father, Styles Junior McGuffin; sister, Polly Madeline Fowler; nephew, Bobby Lamar Fowler; and great-granddaughter, Carlyn Ruth Wilson.

Survivors include her, husband, Joseph Derryl Miner; Children, Derryl Miner, Jr., Keven Miner (Stacey), Melissa Singley (Robert), Wendy Puckett (Tracy); brother, James McGuffin (Francis); sister, Elaine Garsee; nephew, Cody Miner; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; as well as other nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Miner will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tracy Puckett officiating and interment following in Eastview Cemetery, in Conyers. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to her service from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M.
