Jan Bradley, of Conyers, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Mrs. Bradley, beloved wife, mother, and educator, passed away peacefully after a life devoted to her family and community. A proud graduate and valedictorian of Avondale High School, she went on to spend 71 wonderful years married to Coach Bradley, faithfully supporting him throughout his more than 55-year coaching career—missing only five games.
A dedicated substitute teacher and teacher’s aide, she made a lasting impact on countless students. She also found joy in singing in the choir at the Methodist church and traveling with her loved ones. Known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering support, Mrs. Bradley touched hundreds of lives through education, faith, and sports. Her legacy of love and service will live on in the many hearts she inspired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bridgett and Robert Thomas; brother, Larry Thomas, Sister, Vickie Ward; daughter-in-law, Anne Hobbs-Bradley; and sister-in-law, Margaret and Claude Morris.
Survivors include her, husband, Ronald Bradley; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Paul Elliott; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Brad) Bradley, Robert and Mary Ann Bradley, William and Kim Bradley; grandchildren, Erica and Matthew Richardson, Alicia and Peyton McNully, Andrea Elliott, Rebecca Deadorff, Mercer Bradley, Emily Bradley, Taylor Bradley (Alexa), Alex Peterson (Luke Deceased), Jena Jessup 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol and Jeff Corpuel; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Bradley will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025, 10:00 A.M., at Covington First United Methodist Church, 1113 Usher Street SW, in Covington, with Rev. Jan McCoy and Darrell Huckaby officiating. Entombment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in the Memory Chapel Mausoleum, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, July 16, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
