James Robert Ward (Jimmy) 71 of Oxford, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was a very caring and loving man who always helped others.

Jimmy loved the Lord. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he taught adult Sunday School for years. He loved going out to eat and spending time with family. He worked at CD Battery in Conyers, Georgia, for 37 years.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil James and Jewel Stowers Ward; wife of 40 years, Barbara Ellis Ward; son, Michael Frix; and sister, Mary Ward Rutledge.

He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Ward, Peggy Collis; niece, Susan Rutledge Wilson; daughter, Susie Frix Sheffield (Randy); grandchildren, Shelley Frix Baza, Austin Frix, Jami Rose Cronan Rogers (Bo), Katie Frix Sheperd (Stephen), David Cronan (Ashley), Vanessa Autry; 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Danny Ellis (Gayla); daughter-in-law, Geneva Frix and sons.

A Funeral Service for Jimmy will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. David Nelson officiating and interment following in Macedonia Church Cemetery, in Oxford. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
