James Gerry Griggers, of Covington, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Mr. Griggers will be remembered as a loving father, devoted family man, and a man of great wisdom. He was incredibly intelligent and shared his love generously with those around him, always putting his family first. On Sundays, he enjoyed watching church services on his computer, finding comfort and strength in his faith. He also loved spending time outdoors, appreciating the simple joys of nature. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Marie Griggers; son, Marty Griggers; and parents, Willie Washington Griggers and Myrtel Oswald Griggers.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Sanders (George); grandchildren, Gary James Barrett, Jeremie Wayne Barrett; great-grandchildren, Chase Davis, Parker Barrett; and his sister, Barbara Faye Persall.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Griggers will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, 12:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to his service from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
