Jacob Charles Edwin Rainwater, age 25, passed away tragically in a car accident on his way home from work on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He lived with his family in Covington, Georgia. He was born on May 27, 2001, in Conyers, Georgia, and lived a life marked by kindness, friendship, and passion for the people and pursuits he loved.

Jacob graduated from Paragon Academy in Covington, Georgia, and continued his education at Georgia Tech, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He carried himself with determination and purpose, and he was diligent and always committed to his studies and work. After graduating, he worked for Triple Point Engineering as a project engineer, where he was respected for his dedication and professionalism.

A lifelong, fourth-generation Georgia Tech athletics fan, Jacob’s love for the Yellow Jackets was a deep and enduring part of who he was. He was thrilled to serve as an equipment manager for the football team, a role he considered his dream job. He embraced that opportunity with pride and enthusiasm, and it reflected his loyalty, athleticism, and love for the game. Jacob was also a true American patriot, with a deep appreciation for the values and traditions of this nation.

Serving the Lord was important to Jacob throughout his life. He was a member of Rockdale Alliance Church in Conyers, Georgia, where he served on the multimedia team and worked as a youth leader. He valued the relationships he built there and found joy in encouraging and supporting others. His presence in the church community was meaningful, and he will be remembered for the warmth and sincerity he brought to those around him.

Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sarah Hewlett Kahler, and his paternal step-grandfather, James Danny Howle. He is survived by his maternal grandfather, Carl Kahler; his paternal grandmother, Peggy Howle; his paternal grandfather, Charles Rainwater; and his paternal step grandmother, Sandi Rainwater, his parents, Marian and Kevin Rainwater; his brothers, Drew Rainwater and Matthew Rainwater; his sister-in-law, Emma Rainwater; his nephew, Charlie Rainwater; his girlfriend, Blaise Fuller; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear family friends who loved him deeply.

Those who knew Jacob will remember him as outgoing, friendly, and passionate. He had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and his genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His life, though far too brief, was filled with love, purpose, and devotion to family, faith, work, and community. Jacob’s memory will be ever cherished by those who were blessed to know him.
