Howard Gordon Veal, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Canton, Georgia, at the age of 68. Howard was born on January 17, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, to William Howard Veal and June Nelson Veal. He grew up with a strong sense of family, responsibility, and curiosity that would guide him throughout his life. Those who knew him remember him as an intelligent, kind, and friendly man whose steady presence and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone around him. Howard was educated in Dekalb county, he graduated from Towers High School. He continued his studies at Georgia Tech and later attended Georgia State, where he completed his education. Howard Veal followed in his father’s footsteps and devoted most of his career to land development. He took pride in the business and in the opportunity to work alongside his father, with commitment and care. Outside of work, Howard found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved going to the mountains and appreciated the peace and beauty they offered. He also had a lifelong passion for trains, especially model trains, which reflected both his attention to detail and enjoyment of mechanical things. These interests brought him happiness and gave him opportunities to enjoy time spent in reflection and appreciation of the world around him. Above all else, Howard loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with them. He is survived by his son, Jason Veal of Dunwoody, Georgia; his daughter, Elizabeth Veal of Statesboro, Georgia; and his son, Joshua Howard Veal of the US Army. He also leaves behind many family members and friends who will remember his kindness, his intelligence, and the genuine friendliness he extended to others throughout his life. Howard will be remembered for the love he gave, the work he accomplished, and the many ways he enriched the lives of those who knew him. His memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to his family and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
