Helen King of Porterdale passed away February 1, 2016, at the age of 94. Mrs. King was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing southern food for her family. She loved the Lord and gospel music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther (Boots) King; son, Billy King, and parents, Cleveland and Nora Barnes.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and John Kasper of Covington; sons, Leon King, Robert King, both of Oxford; grandchildren, Lindsey and Bhrett Blankenship of Covington, Jessica Blackwell, Josh Mattison, David Kasper, Mark Kasper; great-grandchildren, Cayden Mitchell, Gabriel Blankenship, Juliette Blankenship; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. King will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016, 1:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends may join the family for visitation, Wednesday, February 3, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington, GA.
