Helen Claire Hancock

January 5, 1934 — December 21, 2025

Helen Huguley Hancock, wife of late Bennett Hancock, mother of Milton Hancock (wife - Toni Babb) and Marsha Hancock Fraker (husband - Tom Fraker), grandmother of Benn, Davis (wife - Jaime Kaufman Fraker), and Addie Fraker, and great grandmother of Emmett Fraker passed away on the evening of December 20th. She was two weeks shy of her 92nd birthday.

In addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Helen had a career in banking for many years. Sometime after the passing of Bennett, she moved to Peachtree City to be near Marsha and her grandchildren. She was a skilled and talented seamstress and taught both her daughter Marsha and her granddaughter Addie to sew. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards with a few friends and special occasions with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.

Her family of 5 brothers and 4 sisters is from Thomaston, but she is survived only by her sister, Anne McFarlin.

One of Helen’s characteristic traits was that of great personal strength. She was truly a woman before her time. Growing up in the depression, Helen was one of the most resourceful women you would ever meet.

A graveside service will be held at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington, GA at 1 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025. The service will be led by her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, go to Chick- Fil-A and get a sandwich and frosted lemonade; it was her favorite.
