Glenda Claire Shambo – April 20, 1939 – June 25, 2025 Glenda Claire Shambo, 86, of Monroe, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2025.Born on April 20, 1939, in Miami, Florida, Glenda grew up in South Florida, where her grandparents lived in the very first home ever built in Dade County. Her deep roots in the area were matched only by her deep faith and vibrant spirit.
In 1957, at the age of 19, Glenda married the love of her life, Ed Shambo, whom she met at Central Nazarene Church in Miami, where her uncle was the pastor. Together, Ed and Glenda built a life centered around faith, family, and service. They were married for 68 beautiful years and were active members in every church they attended, constantly finding ways to serve and encourage others.
A talented and accomplished artist, Glenda was especially known for her stunning stained-glass work and was commissioned many times throughout her life. She was also known for her hand painted porcelain, which is displayed in several places. Glenda had a passion for tennis, motorcycle rides, and volunteering as a counselor at the local Crisis Pregnancy Center—each endeavor reflecting her energy, compassion, and joy for life. Alongside Ed, she helped establish a successful State Farm agency and remained his biggest supporter throughout his career.
In 2000, Glenda and Ed moved to Leesburg, Florida, where they spent 25 wonderful years together. Glenda was known for her impeccable style, timeless grace, and a quiet elegance that touched everything she did. She was a devoted prayer warrior, beginning each morning with her journal, devotions, and time in prayer.
After Ed’s passing on January 27, 2025, Glenda relocated to Monroe, Georgia, to be near her son’s families and her grandchildren. Though her time in Georgia was brief, she cherished her daily visits with family—especially stopping by her son Todd’s home each day for a warm hug.
Glenda is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved Ed and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is lovingly survived by her sons Jim (Terri) and Todd (Kim), her grandchildren Tyler, Courtney, Brooke, and Summer, her great-grandchildren Hartley and T.J., her brother Keith (Pauline), and her sister Sharon (Morris).
Glenda will be forever remembered for her sense of humor, her generous heart, her exquisite sense of style, and the warmth of her hugs.

The family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed at: www.youtube.com/@southlakechristianchurch6626
