Gerald Nolan Stowe, of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the age of 85. Mr. Stowe was a proud Vietnam Veteran who loved his country and carried that pride throughout his life. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, making friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed singing, hunting, sharing laughter, and spending time with those he loved. Bold, outgoing, and full of life, he had a loving spirit and a deep faith in the Lord as a devoted Baptist. Above all, Mr. Stowe cherished his family and was always thoughtful and considerate of others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Viola Stowe; parents Henry Lee Stowe and Lillian Viola Stowe, siblings, Eula Mae Kaiser, Cornelius Stowe;and daughter, Stephanie Stowe.
Survivors include his Children, Tim Stowe (Michelle), Kim Maughon (Calvin); grandchildren,
Hannah Potts (Austin), Holly Malcom (Billy), Nikki Whitley, Thomas Maughon, Timothy Maughon (Brooke), Tatum Maughon (Zackary); great-grandchildren, Lillian Malcom, Hastin Potts, NovaLee Potts, Evelyn Malcom, Mia Maughon.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Stowe will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, 1:00 P.M., Bethlehem Baptist Tabernacle, 2 Riverfront Road, in Porterdale, with Pastor Scott Suttles officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, May 17, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
