Mr. Farris “Pinky “ Neil Edwards III, known to many simply as Pinky, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Jackson, Georgia, at the age of 80.

Born on June 14, 1946, in Macon, Georgia, he lived a life marked by love, friendship, intelligence, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that brought him joy. Pinky was a man who valued family above all else, and those who knew him will remember the warmth of his presence, his generous spirit, and the easy kindness that came so naturally to him. He carried himself with quiet confidence and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room.

Pinky had many interests that reflected his full and active life. He loved to fly fish and found peace in the patience and beauty of the outdoors. He also enjoyed camping, where he could spend time surrounded by nature and the simple comforts of good company. Music was another source of enjoyment for him, and he appreciated the way it could lift the spirit and bring people together. He was also known as the owner of Highland Golf Course, a role that reflected both his dedication and his connection to the community. In addition, he loved to cook, and those fortunate enough to share a meal with him knew that his talents in the kitchen were matched by the care he put into everything he did.

Pinky was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Neil Edwards. He is survived by Mary Milton Edwards; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Susan Edwards; his nephews, Wes and Corbin Edwards, Calder and Livvy Zimmerman, and Cliff Smith; his niece, Clara and Chip Zimmerman; and six wonderful caregivers who provided him with kindness and support. His family was a source of great pride and joy throughout his life, and he treasured the bonds he shared with them.

Those who knew Farris will remember him as a loving, friendly, and intelligent man. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and a genuine interest in the lives of those around him. His thoughtful nature, quick wit, and steady presence left a lasting impression on family and friends alike. He lived with grace, humor, and a deep appreciation for the blessings of each day.
