Evelyn V. Shaw

Evelyn V. Shaw, of Covington, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the age of 69. Mrs. Shaw was a lifelong resident of Newton County. As a mother and grandmother figure to many, she had a huge heart and accepted many as her own family. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Shaw; parents, Ernest Lumpkin and Frances Lenora Canup; sisters, Linda Wilbanks, Betty Frye, Faye Almond, Dorothy; brother, Franklin Canup.

Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Tant; sons, Reuben Tant, Jamie Tant; a multitude of grandchildren she took care of as her own; brother, Charles Canup; as well as her fur baby, Buttons.

A visitation for Mrs. Shaw will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Governor Brian Kemp’s latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
