Evelyn Christine Hensley, of Covington, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the age of 87. Mrs. Hensley was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with Canasta being her favorite. Mrs. Hensley also enjoyed painting. She had a love for animals – raising goats, horses and calves. Mrs. Hensley loved helping others whenever she could. In addition, she enjoyed cooking for the holidays and having family over. Mrs. Hensley Loved her Lord, her family, and her grandchildren dearly, and will be remembered as an amazing grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bryan McGilton; parents, Howard and Susie Denham; sisters, Eleanor Strange, Maris Day; brothers, Don Denham, JC Denham, Emerson Denham.
Survivors include her children, Steve Goss (Tami), Judith Crain (Mike); grandchildren, Steven Goss, Brandi Mitchell (Jay), Katy Ingram (Sam), Tammy Chapman (Terry), Jacob Reeves (Tami); great-grandchildren, Cody Chapman, Abigail Chapman, Lilliann Reeves, Eric Marshall, Allison Marshall, Amber Marshall, Hunter Mitchell, Bailey Ingram, Luke Ingram; great-great-grandchildren, Coleson Guy; sister, Jean Thomas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Hensley will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024, 2:00 P.M., at Mansfield Baptist Church, 101 Woodlawn Road, in Mansfield, with Pastor Neal Dose officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, March 9, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
