Eleanor Lee Whitney

Eleanor Lee Whitney, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the age of 87. Mrs. Whitney enjoyed reading a good book and solving word puzzles. Additionally, she loved watching old movies, especially Westerns. Mrs. Whitney had a big heart for animals and adored her dog, Abbey. She treasured spending time with loved ones during family gatherings and cherished her family dearly. Mrs. Whitney was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Whitney, Jr.; and parents, Alvin and Nellie Gertrude Henderson.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Whitney (Elise), Wes Whitney (Susan), Donna Rosales (Pablo), Richard Whitney (Stephanie); grandchildren, Ian, Jose, Antonio, Nicole, RJ, Savannah, Ricky, Cody; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Carole Poyner.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Whitney will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Alan Posey officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to her service from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 P.M.
