Jerry Parish age 83 of Covington, GA passed away peacefully on Friday July 5th 2024. He was born to Emmett and Winnie Parish and grew up with eleven siblings in the little white farmhouse on Henderson Mill Road. He graduated from Newton County High School then went to work and later retired from Lithonia Lighting. Jerry was a member of High Point Baptist Church, where he met the love of his life, Linda of 62 years. Jerry was an avid golfer for many years, but his favorite pastime was the spur of the moment trips to Panama City Beach, Florida. He loved grilling outdoors, having a good time and joking around with family but his most prized possessions of all were his son Rick, his two grandchildren, and his two great-grandchildren. Mr. Parish was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Winnie Parish; brothers, Bill Parish, Lanier Parish, Walker Parish, and Tim Parish; sisters, Annie Lois Loyd, Peggy Parish, Myrtle House, Mildred Walden, Sarah Bohannon, and Judy Allen.
Survivors include his loving wife Linda Parish; son Ricky Parish; granddaughter Erica Morris (Nick); grandson, Branson Parish; great-grandson, Braylon Morris; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Morris; Sister Junelle “Tiny” Ellis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home 1215 Access Rd. Covington, GA 30014 on Tuesday July 9th at 12:00PM A visitation will be held from 11:00AM- 12:00PM at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Rd, Covington, GA 30014
