Dorothie Howell

Dorothie Howell, of Conyers, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 95. Mrs. Howell was known for keeping one of the most spotless homes, a reflection of her care, pride, and attention to detail. She had a deep love for flowers and found joy in nurturing their beauty. Above all, she cherished being a devoted mother and grandmother, roles that brought her the greatest happiness. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed watching CSI: Miami, Chicago P.D., and her favorite game shows with her faithful companion, her cat Sassy. Mrs. Howell will be fondly remembered for her warmth, dedication to family, and the loving home she created.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie D. Howell; parents, Isaac and Flora Revis Johnson; sister, Jewel Nell Tomerlin; brother, William (Dub) Johnson; sister-in-law, Janice Johnson; grandsons, Gregory Howell, Ronald Homer, Jr.; great-grandson, Christian Howell, daughter-in-law, Debbie Hunley Howell; sons-in-law, Ronald Homer, and Mike Cox.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Howell; daughters, Deborah Cox, Connie Homer, Kimberly Rutherford (Fred); grandchildren, Devon Corbett (Carrie), Chris Howell (Jenn), Katie Sharpe (Chris), Kristy Corbett, Kyle Lucas, Traci Parsons (Mike), Shanna Borders (Eric), Natalie Mauldin, Hank Rutherford; great-grandchildren, Cooper Corbett, Annabelle Corbett, Chase Howell, Carsyn Howell, Luke Sharpe, Lanie Sharpe, Macie VonKalben, Suzy Howell, Austin Roberts, Tavye Borders, Rylan Borders, Emry Borders, Aaron Mauldin, Dawson Allen, Noah Mauldin, Jackson Parsons, and Conner Parsons.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Howell will be held Sunday, December 21, 2025, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawood Memorial Park. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M.
