Dorothea Isabelle Shockley, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the age of 84. Mrs. Shockley was a member of Faith Baptist Church, in Newborn. She took pride in serving her church community and aided in keeping the church clean. Mrs. Shockley loved the simple beauty of flowers, riding horses, sewing, and making quilts. In addition, she enjoyed visiting with others and helping those in need. Mrs. Shockley was preceded in death by her second husband, Elmer McIntosh; third husband, Shine Whittaker; fourth husband, Ben Vossler; fifth husband, Wallace Shockley; parents, Robert Maurice and Margaret Hopewell; sister, Isabelle Hopewell; and brothers, Lamar Hopewell, Freddie Hopewell, Francis Hopewell, Bobby Hopewell, Charles Hopewell.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Dawn Moran; Cindy Lloyd; sons, Thomas Edward Stanley (Marilyn), Randy Stanley (Karen); grandchildren, Mandy Harris (Billy), Jason Stanley (Heather), Taylor Stanley (Katlyn); great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Levi, Justin, Ethan, Ryleigh; sister, Darlene Chamberlin; several nieces and nephews; and first husband, Harry Edgar Stanley.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Shockley will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Michael Scott officiating, and interment following in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Malory Road, in College Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to her service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
