Dorinda Lou (Enyeart) Knepper, aged 64, passed away on September 1, 2025, at Piedmont Newton Hospital. She was the wife of Forrest Knepper. They shared 46 years together, including 45 years of marriage.
Born in Marion, Indiana on August 30, 1961, she was the daughter of Ralph Enyeart and Cynthia (Middleton) Enyeart. She graduated from Warsaw Community High School and went on to a lifelong series of studies, which included nursing, religion, psychology, Italian, fiction, and medical transcription, to name only a few.
Apart from learning, Dorinda enjoyed gaming (especially Borderlands and Minecraft), watching horror movies, reading, crafting, collecting recipes, practicing religious pursuits, and spending time with her family. She could (and did) guess entire plots from a sentence or two of dialogue, but she never let that dampen her enjoyment of learning the rest of the story being told. She actively encouraged the family’s love of language and story in all their forms. She will be remembered for so many qualities: her love for and ability to solve puzzles of all shapes and sizes, her exceptional patience, her aura of cuteness, her love of research, her curiosity, the unfathomable greatness of her love, and her ability to deliver a joke totally straight-faced and out of the blue.
She is survived by Forrest, her daughters Amber (Justin Patterson) and Katrina; her brother Eddie Enyeart, and a host of beloved relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Cynthia Enyeart, her birth parents, Larry Enyeart and Mary Phifer Hollars, her siblings Larry Enyeart Jr., and Briggitte Slusser, Fran Devitt, and Wanda McSherry, and many extended relatives.
The family will have had a private memorial service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
The family thanks the staff of Piedmont Newton Hospital for their valiant effort and for their ensuing support. They also thank John Ehret for all the years of care.
