Mrs. Doretha (Williams) Green was born to the late Deacon Robert and Daisy Williams, Sr. on September 3, 1943, in Jackson, Mississippi.
Doretha confessed her hope in Christ at an early age with Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend L.H. Newsome.
In 1963, she moved to Chicago, Illinois and united in holy matrimony with Miller G. Green.
Doretha graduated from Lanier High School, in Jackson, Mississippi and received a certification from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia in Early Childhood Development. She worked in the Childcare Industry, for 13 years at Small Stride Academy in Chicago, Illinois and 17 years at Wee Care Early Learning Center in East Point, Georgia. Doretha had a passion for teaching and nurturing infants and toddlers.
In 1997, Doretha moved to Georgia to start a new chapter in her life. She joined Josephine B. Brown Senior Center in Covington, Georgia and was active in weekly activities and made many nurturing friendships. Later, she joined Community Fellowship Baptist Church under the pastorate of Brian Bullard in Covington, Georgia where she served as an Honorary Member of the Mother Board.
