Donald Bryant, Sr., of Covington, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 85. A talented welder and lifelong tinkerer, he was known for fixing lawnmowers, and always having a project in the works. He found joy in fishing, camping, watching westerns and keeping up with the Weather Channel, living a life rooted in simple pleasures. Affectionately known as “Paw Paw” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Bryant; parents, Bill and Nellie Bryant; and brothers, Earl Bryant, Billy Bryant.
Survivors include his son, Donnie Bryant; step-children, Ricky Obert, Vicky Shoemake, Allen Obert, Bonnie McGraw, Mary Wilder; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Brown Patton, and Roy Patton.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bryant will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in McDonough. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday, prior to his service from 12:30 - 2:00 P.M.
