David Thorpe passed away on May 3, 2026. He was born and raised in Ireland, a place he deeply loved and returned to often, especially enjoying trips home for his favorite fish and chips. David had a lifelong love of music and movies. He was a devoted fan of Elvis and held Titanic as his favorite film. These passions brought him great joy and were often shared with those around him.
Known for his kindness and generosity, David was always ready to help anyone in need and was the person friends and family could rely on to solve problems. He also had a gift for finding a good deal, using his natural charisma and warm personality to connect with people wherever he went.
David will be remembered for his helpful spirit, his love of life, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Thorpe; and step-children, Gabby and Alex Hunter.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kristie Thorpe; son, Nicholaus Thorpe; step-children, Chris Hunter (Kiersten), Silina Wilson (Jeremy), Sabrina Hunter, Morgan Hunter, Daniel Hunter
grandchildren, Isabella, Violet, June, Layla, Sawyer; and siblings, Philomena Burnes, Ken Thorpe, Ray Thorpe, Dennis Thorpe.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Thorpe will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with entombment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to his service from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.
