Dakota Rodgers

Dakota Rodgers, of Newborn, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 36. Dakota passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and passion. He had a deep love for history and all things military, often diving into the past with curiosity and respect. A devoted gamer, he spent countless hours on Xbox, enjoying the thrill of video games and the camaraderie they brought.

Dakota's heart was as big as his smile—he was always ready to lend a hand and help those around him. He cherished time with his friends, and his loyal dogs, Ditto and Dooley, were never far from his side.

Whether cheering for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs or playing any sport that came his way, Dakota brought energy and enthusiasm to everything he did. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Maw; grandparents, Don Rodgers, Sr., “GranPaw” and Rebecca Rodgers “Granny”, Donald/Tank Tanquary “GranGran”; brother, Corey James Rogers; aunt and uncle, Donnie Rodgers (Judy); and cousin, Amanda Tanquary.

Survivors include his parents, Jimmie and Pam Rodgers; grandmother, Betty Tanquary “Munner”; aunt and uncle, Tony Tanquary (Cindy); and cousins, TJ Tanquary (Ashley), Phoenix, and Elle; dang good friends, Nicholas Smith "Nene", Gavin Collins, Richard Mock.

A Funeral Service for Dakota will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, 12:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington with interment following in Fairview Memorial Gardens, in Stockbridge. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Wednesday, May 21, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.
