Cora Mae Bell, of Oxford, transitioned to her eternal home Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 73.Mrs. Bell transitioned peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Hampton, her sister Juanita Douglas, and her brother Lonnie Lyons.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James H. Bell, Sr.; her children, James Jr. (Deanna), Michael, and Pamala (Alfonzo, Jr.); her beloved grandchildren, Alfonzo III, Quintus, Malachi, and Jameson; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Ella Jones (Edward) and Lillie Ramsey, six brothers-in-law, Johnnie Bell, Willie Bell, Bob Bell, Curtis Bell, Ronnie Bell and Melvin Bell; two sisters-in-law, Christine Greene, Carolyn Bhrim; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will deeply miss her presence.
Mrs. Bell was a faithful member of The Church at Haynes Creek. She found joy in gardening, reading, cooking, and visiting historical places. Mrs. Bell loved listening to music, especially gospel, and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her presence brought immense joy and comfort to her family and friends, and she leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Bell will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, 12 Noon, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 11:00 A.M - 12 Noon.
