Cecil Munroe, of Covington, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 91.
Mr. Munroe was an avid gardener who took great joy in cultivating fruit trees and tending to his animals - goats, peacocks, and his beloved birds. His love for nature was matched only by his impressive skills as a builder, able to construct a house from the ground up with his own two hands.
A devoted family man, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether in his community or to those closest to him. His selflessness and love for others were evident in all he did.
As a professional cyclist and marathon runner, Mr. Munroe was no stranger to the discipline and dedication required to excel. He ran the New York Marathon several times, finishing in the top 100 in 1984, a testament to his unwavering determination and athleticism.
Mr. Munroe leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
