Brian Christopher Schmidt, a loving son, brother, and friend, passed away April 5, 2026, at the age of 36. Born December 4, 1989, in Papillion, Nebraska, Brian was the second of three children born to Will and Pat Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, April 11, 2026, at Caldwell/Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, Georgia, with visitation at 12:00 pm immediately preceding the service.

He is survived by his parents, Will and Pat Schmidt; his brothers, David and Michael; his sister-in-law, Lawson; and his niece and nephew.

Brian's love for music was a defining part of his life. In middle and high school, he played trumpet in the concert band and marching band, and was an outstanding tenor in choir, earning selection to the Georgia All-State Chorus every year. After school, he continued his passion for music through being the lead singer in several metal bands, writing many of their songs and performing with passion and energy. He was also heavily involved in music production, recording and producing music and albums for several local bands, helping them shape their sounds.

Before the pandemic, Brian gained many skills in the restaurant industry. After the pandemic, he became a jack-of-all-trades, acquiring skills in the fields of plumbing and pest control, among others. His outgoing personality and love of music remained constants, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who cherish the memories they shared with him.
