Bill Sharpe, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 86. For many years, Bill was an owner of Sharpe's Appliance in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech and a veteran of the US Air Force. Bill and his wife Faye served faithfully for decades at Indian Creek Baptist Church and more recently at First Baptist Church of Covington. Bill was a bright spot in the Beacon Neighborhood where he was lovingly cared for by faithful caregivers at Benton House of Covington and Southern Grace Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Sharpe; his parents, William and Edith Sharpe; and his brother, Bob Sharpe.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Sharpe and Kathy Mischke and sister-in-law, Kellie Sharpe; nieces, Vicki Foskey (Russell), Gina Carter (Johnny), Amy Reach (Kevin), Robin Corley (Bill), Laurie Whitley (Kevin); nephews Alan Freeman (Nancy), Scott Fuss (Kristi); as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, Brian Andrews, Grant Carter, Lance Foskey, Adam Foskey, Bryce Freeman, Dalton Whitley, Bailey Reach, Caleb Fuss, Tray Corley, Taft Hooks, and Daniel Allen.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Sharpe will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to the service from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Covington Building Fund, 1139 Usher Street NW, Covington, GA 30014.
