Betty Christian Thomas

Betty Christian Thomas, age 84, of Covington, passed away September 8, 2014. Mrs. Thomas was a faithful member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was very active in various church functions, and was a member of the church choir for several years. She was a longtime, dedicated employee of Steele-Jones Insurance Agency, in Covington. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ralph Thomas; parents, Frank Buford and Ellen Ruth (Cowan) Christian; sisters, Mary Beth Steele, Jean O'Neal; and her brother, Frank E. Christian.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Ellene Rosser of Covington, Rose Fuller of Conyers, Gladys Woodham of Dallas, Margaret Shaw of Decatur, Bonnie English of Griffin, Evelyn Zimmerman of Virginia; brother-in-law, James Thomas of Cumming; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014, 4:00 PM, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Daniel J. Commerford and Bob King officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Tuesday, September 09, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1002 Bethany Road, Covington, GA 30016.
