Becky
Rutledge
Apr 7, 1949 — Sep 5, 2026
Emily Rebecca Rutledge, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 77.
Becky was a true social butterfly, dynamic, outgoing, spunky, and always ready to bring people together. She was deeply involved in her community, her church, the garden club, and countless events and organizations. Wherever there was a celebration, Becky was likely at the center of it, making sure every detail was just right.
She made a career and a passion out of creating beautiful celebrations. Through her wedding planning, bridal shop, floral work, and catering, Becky helped countless families celebrate some of the most important days of their lives. Her creativity, energy, and gift for making people feel welcome left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Above all, Becky loved her family fiercely and was happiest surrounded by the people she loved. Her laughter, determination, generous spirit, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Rutledge; son, Bill Rutledge; daughter-in-law, Leigh Rutledge; and parents, Neal and Mary Banks.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Elmore; grandchildren, Jerry Elmore, James Elmore, William Rutledge (Cassidy), River Rutledge, and Nancy Rutledge (Chase); great-granddaughter, Nova Rutledge; siblings, Marty Harrington (Lynn) and John Banks; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private family service to celebrate Becky’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Covington First United Methodist Church in Becky’s memory.
Becky lived life fully, loved generously, and never met a party she couldn’t make better. Her spirit and the joy she brought to so many will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
