Obituary

Barry Winfield Aycox, of Loganville, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 76. Mr. Aycox was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He was the biggest supporter of his grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on at their sporting events and activities. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in Vietnam and upon returning served as a Military Police officer.

Mr. Aycox had a passion for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed riding horses, camping in Port St. Joe, and taking peaceful walks along the beach. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, he served as a director of the Stone Mountain Harley Group and loved the thrill of going fast. He was also a talented handyman who could fix just about anything, a devoted car enthusiast, an avid reader, and a collector of firearms. He enjoyed watching classic films, especially American Graffiti, and was known for his gift of storytelling and his quick sense of humor, always ready with a joke that could bring a smile to those around him. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with those he loved, and his unwavering love, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Winfield Aycox and Mary Joyce Aycox; sisters, Brenda Herron, Vicki Huxhold.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy Aycox; daughters, Stephanie Wise (Emory), Lori King (Greg); grandchildren, Braden Wise, Jax King, Tyler Kathryn King; sister, Linda McFarland (Reggie); as well as several nieces and nephews.
