Yvonne Chancey

Yvonne Chancey of Covington, passed away October 31, 2017, at 80 years of age. Retired from Kmart after serving as manager for 20-plus years, Mrs. Chancey spent her working career in retail sales, where her ability to merchandise was easily recognized and well-known. She was a member of Covington Mill United Methodist Church, and a past president of the Covington Elkadettes. Social in nature, Mrs. Chancey liked to fellowship with friends and family whenever possible. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. Mrs. Chancey was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Chancey; granddaughter, Katie Carr; parents, Roy and Kathleen (White) Elder; and her brother, Lanier Elder.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ted, Jr., and Pam McAdams Chancey; grandchildren, Kimberly and James Chitwood, Brittany and Kyle Carr; great-grandchildren, Zach, Zoie, Zaleigh, Cortney, Braedin, Maron, Kyle, Karter; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Tony Edwards; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Chancey will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. Steve Hester officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Chancey's memory to Covington Mill United Methodist Church, 6154 Collins Street, NE, Covington, GA 30014.
