Rita M. Williamson

Rita M. Williamson, age 81, of Oxford, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019. Nana, as she was known to her loved ones, was a special person and was adored by all who knew her. She was the cornerstone of her family - a valuable piece of the puzzle that is now missing! Her spirited and vocal demeanor was only part of her charm. Nana's strong love of family, and her reputation among her circle of friends as a "pistol", were also qualities that endeared her to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Williamson; granddaughter, Sandy Cunard; parents, Homer and Roas Lee (Damron) Brooks; as well as several siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Martin of Oxford; son, Johnny Williamson; step-daughter, Linda Sue Gibbs; grandchildren, James Willbanks, Bobby Willbanks, Ian Hill, Nathan Fury; step-grandchildren, Angela Lockamy, Buddy Parsons, Beverly Sandy; and great-grandchildren, Trevor Cunard, Evan Cunard, Miranda Cunard, Lexi Willbanks, Austin Willbanks, Emerson Willbanks, Lincoln Willbanks, Kaylee Lockamy.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Williamson will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019, 1:00 P.M., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 108 W. Macedonia Church Road, in Oxford, with Pastor David Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Williamson's family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home,*1215 ACCESS ROAD, in Covington, Wednesday, May 29, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
