Loretta Gladden Obituary

Loretta Sharp Gladden passed away peacefully at her home on October 11, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 11, 1935, in Ephrata, PA. Lorrie attended University of Pennsylvania and Duke University and worked for many years as a registered nurse in the Atlanta and Covington areas. She was an active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd in Covington. In addition, Lorrie was a member of many Newton County community and historical organizations throughout the years. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, quilting, and was loved by a wide circle of friends. Lorrie was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Gladden; as well as her parents, Richard and Elva Sharp.

Survivors include her children, Karen Talmage, Marty and Lynda Loden, Julie and John Fitchett, of both Atlanta, GA and Denver CO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Mike Sharp of Philadelphia, PA.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016, 11:00 AM, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 4140 Clark Street, in Covington. In remembrance of Lorrie, donations may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd, 4140 Clark Street, Covington, GA 30014.
