Larry Irish Obituary

Larry W. Irish of Covington, passed away May 17, 2018, at the age of 71. Mr. Irish proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. He worked for Georgia Power where he retired after 30 years of service. Mr. Irish was a devoted and supportive member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He enjoyed country music, playing cards and fishing, but most of all - he loved playing golf. In addition to being a lifelong member of the Lions Club International, Mr. Irish was also a member of Elks Lodge 1806. He was a soft-spoken man with a heart of gold. Mr. Irish cherished his family and the time they spent together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Gracie Irish; step-son, John Dishaw; granddaughter, Carly Adams; step-great-grandchild, Madisyn Warju.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Irish; children and their spouses, Tammy Adams and husband, Bill, Tarla Hogue and husband, Jason; Jeff Irish; step-children and their spouses, Theresa Krzywosinski and husband, Mike, Shelley Strope and husband, Pat, Ron Dishaw and wife, Lynne, Kevin Luce; grandchildren, Lindsey, Shelby, Savannah, Meddow, Branson; step-grandchildren, Tina, Crystal, Heather, Michelle, Patrick, Amber, Lisa; 16 step-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Delbert Ward; nieces, Natalie and Autumn.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Irish will be held Monday, May 21, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating and interment following in Shiloh United Methodist Cemetery, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, two hours prior to his service, from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM.
