Herbert Bratcher Obituary

Herbert Lee Bratcher of Covington, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the age of 66. Herbert Lee was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of the True Gospel Lighthouse church in Madison, GA, and loved his church family dearly. He was a man of strong faith and fought a long, hard battle with cancer for 10 years. Even in his weakest moments, he never failed to make anyone who knew him laugh. To know Herbert Lee was to love him and to have a smile on your face. Herbert Lee was the owner of Lee's Roofing for 36 years. He loved his oldies music and western TV shows. He was Elvis Presley's and John Wayne's biggest fan, and he had watched every episode of Gunsmoke and NCIS there ever was. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs. Herbert Lee was loved and will be missed dearly. Our loss is Heaven's gain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Howard and Mable Joyce (Ward) Bratcher; and sister, Angela Bratcher.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Judy Bratcher; daughter, Joy Bratcher, Covington, both of Covington; sisters and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Kenneth Ricks of Canon, GA, Susan Payne of Comfort, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Herbert Lee will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Gary Bratcher and Pastor John Bratcher officiating and interment following in Fairview Memorial Gardens, in Stockbridge. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, November 23, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
