Ellen Brown McClure

Ellen Brown McClure of Covington, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the age of 79. Mrs. McClure was happiest being at home, doting on her loved ones. She was especially proud of her grandsons and spending time with them filled her heart. Mrs. McClure also enjoyed socializing with neighbors, putting together puzzles, or relaxing with her dog, Soccer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Effie (Johnson) Brown; sister, Bernice Harris; and brother, Alfred Brown.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Jerald "Jerry" McClure, Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Scott Aiken, Mary and Shane Knight; son, Jerald McClure, Jr.; all of Covington; grandchildren, Scotty Aiken, Mitchell and Elise Aiken, Jantzen Knight, Jaeger Knight; great-grandson, Chandler Wade Aiken; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff Brown of Augusta, Bo and Kim Brown of Homa, LA, Sally McClure Mobley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. McClure will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017, 4:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Andy Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Covington Mill Cemetery, Covington. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home one hour prior to her service, from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
