Dana Edwards Obituary

Dana Edwards of Covington, passed away November 13, 2017, at the age of 70. A native of Newton County, he was a 1965 graduate of Newton County High, where he played the trumpet in the marching band, and enjoyed attending Porterdale Baptist Church. Mr. Edwards owned and operated Edwards Painting for more than 20 plus years. He cherished his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Lana (Earnest) Edwards; and his parents, Hugh Edwards and Betty (Blankenship) Stanton; sister, Angela Dawn Edwards.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Stephanie Edwards of Huntley, IL, Paul and Stephanie Edwards of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Julian Edwards, Gabrielle Edwards, Jonah Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Molly Edwards; sisters, Huanne Edwards Bridges, Brenda Stanton, all of Covington; brother, Butch Stanton of Covington; aunt, Bobbie Jean Lindsey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation for Mr. Edwards will be held Friday, November 17, 2017, from 5 - 8 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
