Arthur Lee "Dooley" Almond

Arthur Lee "Dooley" Almond of Covington, passed away June 12, 2018, at the age of 78. A devoted Christian and ordained deacon, Mr. Almond was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army and the National Guard. Mr. Almond enjoyed fishing and was a volunteer for the Porterdale Fire Department. In addition, he coached men's softball. Mr. Almond was a strong family man and loved his family - especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death his loving wife of 57 years, Clara Ruth Almond; granddaughter, Leah Ruth Almond; father, J.W. Almond; mother, Lucille Alexander; siblings, James Almond, Lizzie Harper, and Josie Smith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marcie and Les Asselstine; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Diana Almond; grandchildren, Brandon Tinsley, Jessica Taylor, Amanda Fulcher, Wesley A. Almond, Marcus Almond, Destiny Almond, Chris Cabe, Jason Cabe, Reanna Maddox; 19 great-grandchildren; honorary pallbearer, Marshall Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Almond will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 8111 Brown Bridge Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home,1215 Access Road, Covington, Friday, June 15, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
