Vera K. Stalvey

Vera K. Stalvey, of Covington, passed away September 26, 2014, at the age of 94. Mrs. Stalvey lived in Rome, GA until she moved to Covington in 1975. She was a member of Covington Church of God in Covington, and a former member or East Rome Church of God, where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Stalvey enjoyed quilting, crocheting and ceramics, but her focus was being a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood A. Stalvey; grandsons, Scott Stalvey and Tony Stalvey; great-grandson, Matthew Stalvey; parents, Randy and Mary Louise (Morgan) Wright

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Stalvey of Covington, Billy and Evelyn Stalvey of Dahlonega; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Otis Wright of Toronto, Canada and Wesley Wright of Rome; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Stalvey will be held Monday, September 29, 2014, 12:00PM, at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave, NE, in Rome with Pastor Ricky Kelley and Wesley Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, September 28, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Stalvey to Newton Medical Center - Auxiliary and Volunteer Services, 5126 Hospital Drive, Covington, GA 30014
