Mitchell "Nick" Nichelson

Mitchell "Nick" Nichelson of Covington, passed away June 20, 2016 at the age of 75. He was a union electrician for 36 years, and a Mason for many years, and a Shriner. His cars were a favorite pastime, and in his younger years he enjoyed boating. An honest, hard-working man who lived life to the fullest, Mr. Nichelson will be missed by the family and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Cargile; parents Earnest Lavel, Sr. and Dessie Nichelson.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Chris Richardson; son, Mitch Nicholson, all of Covington; grandchildren, Seth Cargile, Trever Cargile, Gage Nicholson, Ledger Richardson, Paxton Richardson; great-grandchildren, Rileigh Cargile, Kaydence Cargile, Emily Rose Cargile, Ava Lynn Cargile; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Rose Smith, Kay and James Jordan; brothers, Earnest Lavel Nichelson, Jr., Paul Malone Nichelson, Charlie Isiah Nichelson, Arthur Nichelson, Billy Wayne Nichelson, Rodney Nichelson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Nichelson will be held Friday, June 24, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, June 23, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
