Jimmy E. Maloy

Jimmy E. Maloy of Covington passed away January 15, 2017, at 82 years of age. A native of Porterdale, Mr. Maloy retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He then began a 20-year career working for the Orange County Florida Sheriff's Department. Mr. Maloy enjoyed golfing and watching football. He will be remembered as a funny, generous, and kind-hearted man who kept an immaculate yard. Mr. Maloy was preceded in death by his parents, Schley Howard and Edna Irene (Ferguson) Maloy; and sister, Ruth McRee.

Survivors include his wife JoAnn Maloy; daughters, Karen Maloy, Terri Maloy; step-daughters, Cindy Bishop, Patti Glover and husband Tim; step-son, Doug Thompson, Jr., and wife Cecily; 1 granddaughter; 6 step-grandchildren; sister, Deborah Ray; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Maloy will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access, Road, Covington, with Rev. Jim Berry officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
