Francine (Garner) Smallwood

Francine (Garner) Smallwood of Porterdale, passed away March 13, 2017, at Piedmont Newton Hosptial. Mrs. Smallwood was born August 30, 1938, in Henry County. She retired from Newton Medical Center after 24 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Smallwood enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Braves, and visiting the casinos. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Smallwood; son, Terry Smallwood; parents, Benjamin F. and Daisy (Hall) Garner; sisters, Mildred Adams, Frances Henry; and brother, John Garner.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Theresa Smallwood of Mansfield; grandsons, Blake Smallwood, Tyler Smallwood, also of Mansfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, B.F. and Mary Garner of Covington, Douglas and Carol Garner of Covington; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Smallwood will held be Thursday, March 16, 2017, 2:00 PM, in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Wednesday, March 15, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
