Bobby Joe Davenport

Bobby Joe Davenport of Conyers, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the age of 76. Known to his fellow drivers as "Blue Thunder", Bobby Joe earned his living as a truck driver for Dart Container Corporation. He was a race car enthusiast, whether driving his own race car, or cheering on his favorite NASCAR driver. In addition to being outdoors, camping and fishing, Bobby Joe loved to listen to classic country music and dance. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others - especially his family. Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dovie (Hughes) Davenport.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Christopher McElhannon; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Brenda Davenport; grandchildren, Racheal and Willie Cosby, Tabithia Davenport, Shawn Cox, Tori and James Long, Robi and James Davenport, Amber Jenkins, Joe and Lindsey Toath, Julie Toath, Josh Toath, Justin Toath, all of Conyers; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda Morris and Jamie King, Teresa Taylor and Charles Peppers; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Bobby Joe Davenport will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ralph Romans and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, in Conyers. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
