Betty Laverne Milwood

Betty Laverne Millwood of Conyers, passed away April 15, 2015, at the age of 68. Betty was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed breakfast and lunch at Mamie's Kitchen, in Conyers, and volunteered to help during their busy times. Betty liked playing bingo at American Legion and the VFW, she never met a stranger and loved all whom she came in contact with. In her younger years, life was very difficult, yet she remained close with her sister, Ann, and over time grew closer to her mother, brothers and other sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene Millwood, Sr.; mother, Edna Ethel Whatley; father, David Ralph Maloy; and her brothers, Billy, Donald and David Maloy.

Survivors include her children, Betty Ann and Mark Miller of Blue Ridge, GA, Harold Gene, Jr. and Alycin Millwood of Ringgold, GA, David, Sr. and Pam Millwood of Mansfield, Trina Gilreath and Armando Lopez of Conyers; grandchildren, Ciara Jones, Morgan Miller, Felicia Jones, Ashley Miller, Andrew Miller, Thomas Millwood, Joseph Millwood, Kayla Millwood, David "D.J." Millwood, Jr., Devin Millwood, Brandy Flynn, Patrick Tate; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Flynn, Liam Tate, Conner Tate, Mason Jones, Kaelyn (Betty) Jones, Makayla Taylor, Shyann Jones, Sadie Jones, Dyllan Wagy, Jesus Lopez; sisters, Patricia Ann White of Commerce, Frances Waddleton of Oxford, Margaret Bates of Newborn; brothers, Jimmy Bell of Covington, Fred Maloy of Monroe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Betty will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Rev. Tony Compton officiating and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 17, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
