Bennie Bruce Obituary

Bennie L. Bruce of Covington passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the age of 88. Mrs. Bruce was of the Methodist faith, and she enjoyed going to church. She liked traveling, going to the beach and working in her yard. Mrs. Bruce cherished the time spent with family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Benjamin and Berta Davis.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Jeannie Bruce, Mark and Marie Bruce all of Covington; grandson and his wife, Major Todd and Tracy Bruce of Fort Benning; great-granddaughters, Kati Bruce, Alli Bruce; sister, Rachel Folds of Social Circle.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Bruce will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Newborn Memorial Cemetery, 128 Steve Polk Road, in Newborn, with Kerry Courchaine officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Covington, 1113 Conyers Street SW, Covington, GA 30014, or the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Georgia Chapter, 3525 Piedmont Road NE, Building 6, Suite #300, Atlanta, GA 30305.
